How long have you been singing and playing drums?
I’ve been singing since I could talk and have been studying voice for over 16 years. As for drums, I have been playing since I could hold sticks, but seriously studying for over 18 years.
Professional Experience:
I play drums and sing in two gigging bands, I’m the back-up drummer for two churches, and I just recently wrapped up playing drums for the University of North Texas University Players production of A Very Potter Musical. I have sung in several choirs, an auditioned acapella group, and also sing with the University of North Texas opera.I have also sung and played drums in cover bands, original rock, funk/rock, and pop bands. I have also sung in choirs, operas, and have been a soloist for St. Andrew UMC and at UNT.
Accomplishments:
- Sung in the UNT opera’s productions of Lucia Di Lammermoor, Romeo et Juliette, and Pirates of Penzance, as well as The Living Opera’s production of L’elisir d’Amore.
- Sung as part of the choir for the International Church Music Festival in Bern, Switzerland, and in Carnegie Hall for an anniversary performance of John Rutter’s Requiem
- Was a featured soloist in concerts of the UNT Men’s Chorus twice
- Drumming has been featured as part of a band on the Bling Johnson Show
