IS YOUR CHILD A ROCK STAR?
DO YOU WISH YOU COULD GIVE THEM A REAL BAND EXPERIENCE – AND GET A HEAD START WITH THEIR INSTRUMENT – ALL IN A SAFE, FUN COLLABORATIVE MUSICAL ENVIRONMENT?
[Not Your Typical] Band Camp is Dallas/Fort Worth’s paramount summer music day-camp for aspiring musicians from ages 11-17. [NYT] Band Camp invites musicians with a passion for rock, blues, country, metal, pop, singer/songwriter and punk rock wanting to take their craft to a greater performance level. We know that every musician is unique, and everyone is at a different point in their musical journey. [NYT] Band Camp offers a real-life opportunity for young musicians from all skill levels and styles to collaborate with other musicians in a real band setting! During the 5-day program, campers will form a band with other musicians, write songs, record music and perform live for friends and family! Above all, [NYT] Band Camp gives campers a rare chance to forge live performance skills, build self-confidence, and sharpen teamwork skills, to create memories that continue beyond camp!
HOW IS [NYT] BAND CAMP DIFFERENT FROM OTHER ROCK CAMPS?
a) [NYT] Band Camp is held in a real multi-room recording studio versus a church or middle school (competing camps locations). We believe having the camp in an actual recording studio will give the campers an experience like no other, and a real introduction to an aspect of being a musician overlooked by other camps.
b) [NYT] Band Camp is allowing young violinists and cellists to participate! With a growing number of violinists and cellists impacting the modern music scene, we think incorporating these instruments into a band will allow ALL campers at [NYT] Band Camp the opportunity to explore their musical boundaries!
c) Guitar amplification, drum kits, microphones, mic stands, and instrument cabling are provided by the camp. Other rock camps require that campers bring their own on a daily basis or pay a hefty fee and rent these items from the camp.
d) [NYT] Band Camp counselors are Music By Ross instructors. Many kids at the camp are currently students with MBR, and receive private lessons with our instructors. Unlike other rock camps who hire a revolving door of musicians acting as counselors each year, our counselors have invested interest in seeing their students excel both at [NYT] Band Camp and in private lessons!
